Nichols moving to La. Tech

Former West Virginia University basketball guard and graduate assistant coach Darris Nichols has accepted a position as an assistant to Louisiana Tech coach Mike White.

“He had two assistants leave,” Nichols said Wednesday. “One went to Wichita State and one went to Vanderbilt. Coach White called me Friday after some other coaches mentioned my name.”

Nichols is moving from Wofford, which will play in Morgantown this coming season partially through the former Mountaineer’s efforts. He will, though, visit the Mountain State because Louisiana Tech is a member of Conference USA like Marshall.

Nichols also coached at Northern Kentucky after serving as a graduate assistant to WVU coach Bob Huggins.
