FestivALL causes street closures

FestivALL festivities in Charleston this weekend will result in some street closures affecting the East End, West Side and downtown.

Kanawha Boulevard between Clendenin and Capitol streets will be closed Friday evening through Saturday evening for the weekly Live on the Levee concert on Friday and the Smoke on the Water Chili Cookoff on Saturday.

On Saturday, streets in downtown and the East End will be closed for the CAMC Foundation’s Run for Your Life race, which will occur between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Affected streets include Court Street, Piedmont Road and Farnsworth Drive.

Later Saturday morning, the entirety of Capitol Street will be closed between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for the FestivALL parade. The parade will also affect all intersections through which Capitol Street passes.

On the West Side, Matthews Avenue and Park Avenue on both sides of Stonewall Jackson Middle School will be closed Saturday and Sunday for the Weiner Dog Races and the Ice Cream Social. Those streets will close at 7 a.m. Saturday and remain closed through Sunday evening.
