Seventeen wanted people were arrested Monday evening during a citywide “warrants sweep,” according to a Charleston Police Department press release.
The twenty-two charges ranged from traffic offenses to fraud and domestic battery. A person who was arrested on warrants charges was also cited for possession of marijuana, the press release states.
“The warrants sweep was conducted to maintain high police visibility in all areas of the city, to reduce the number of active warrants, and to bring those responsible for crimes into the justice system for prosecution,” the press release states.
