Ripley’s free Fourth of July party has been called “the USA’s Largest Small-Town Independence Celebration.” It kicks off this year with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. Friday on the Jackson County Courthouse lawn. Music comes from Hogan’s Goat at 11 a.m., Country Showdown competitors at 2 p.m., the Jeff Ray Band at 6 p.m. and Tim McGraw tribute artist Adam D. Tucker (pictured) at 8:30 p.m.; comedian/magician Matt Fore performs at 4:30 p.m. The Grand Parade, led by Grand Marshal Dreama Denver, steps off at noon, and the festivities conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.ripley4thofjuly.us.
