Mollie Ann Hughes, 59, of Peytona, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the home of her sister, Margaret Slone, after a long illness.
She was born July 4, 1954, to the late Cecil and Betty Atkins, and also was preceded in death by her husband of 39-and-a-half years, Michael, and brother, Jackie Atkins.
She was a lifelong resident of Boone County.
Mollie is survived by her sons, Mickey (Angie) Hughes and Matthew R. Hughes; granddaughters, Vanessa Brook and Ammie Nichole Hughes, all of Drawdy; special niece, Betty "BJ" and Travis Jarrell; grandkids, Brandon Jarrell of Drawdy and Kate Wall of Comfort; great-grandson, Troy Davis; special nephew, Roger "P-Nut" (Bobbi) Pauley of Griffithsville; lifelong friends, Johnny (Susie) Long of Sod, and a host of family and friends; and siblings, Janice (Danny) Allen, Margaret (Ronnie) Slone, Johnny (Lydia) Atkins, Vicky (David) Crone, Debra (Harley) Barker and Drema (Dennis) Tomblin.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Cemetery, Ely Road, McCorkle, with Pastor Roger Halstead officiating; burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
