Trail club hike

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday, July 6, at Fayetteville City Park. Meet at noon to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the park’s parking area. The hike is about 5 miles on easy trails with moderate grades to Long Point and back.


Al-Anon and Alateen groups have open and free support group meetings for those that have family and friends that have an addiction. Al-Anon meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; noon, Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr. Alateen, for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a family member or friend meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr.; and at noon on Fridays at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., Room 200. The Legacy Study Group will meet at 7 p.m. Sundays at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston. For information, call WV Al-Anon Information at 304-345-7420.

Blood drive

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, 4122 Teays Valley Road in Scott Depot. Blood is especially needed this time of year. Call 1-800-RED CROSS to schedule an appointment time.
