Michael Pernell, 66, of Witcher, left to go to his heavenly home July 3, 2014.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Eunice Pernell; brother, Charles; and two nephews.
Mike is survived by his wife, Connie Dunlap Pernell; sons, Greg (Laura Li) of Charlotte, N.C. and Marty (Jen) of Clover, S.C.; five grandchildren, Samantha, Chase, Olivia, Darren and Daniel; one great-grandson, Arius; sister, Sue Bender of Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was a member and deacon of Diamond Baptist Church, a 1965 graduate of DuPont High School and retired from DuPont's Belle plant. Mike had a cross ministry which touched many lives. In those small wooden crosses was a witness program that reached out to anyone who accepted one of them.
The family would like to thank all his faithful co-workers who visited him regularly, Dr. Scott Moore and Dr. Arvind Shah for their care over the years and a special Thank You to his faithful friend, Herb.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle with Pastor's Al Mendez, Rick Pursley and Bobby Goldsburg officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Charleston, 1606 Kanawha Boulevard Charleston, West Virginia 25387.
