Charles Edwin Hamilton III, 74, of 2062 Jewell Hollow Rd., Luray, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Page Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 5, 1940, in Charleston, W.Va., and was the son of the late Charles Edwin Hamilton II and Ruth York Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton was an attorney for the Department of Justice for 35 years. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Luray Rotary Club and Performing Arts Luray (PAL).
On Sept. 26, 1998, he married Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Crowe Hamilton, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Charles Edwin "Ned" Hamilton IV and wife, Jamie of Los Angeles, Calif. and James Lanning Hamilton and wife, Kristen of Seattle, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Vivian Hamilton of Los Angeles, Calif. and Colin, Liam and Gavin Hamilton, all of Seattle, Wash.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 at Christ Episcopal Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. A reception is planned at the Mimslyn.
