Cecil Ray Paul, 69, of Culloden, went into the loving arms of Jesus on July 3, 2014, at home in Culloden surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.
Cecil was born Jan. 3, 1945, in Barboursville and was a son of Eva Paul and Ivan Adkins, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Noah Paul.
He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and more than anything, spending time with his loving family. Cecil attended Mount Salem United Methodist Church in Hurricane.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Doris Womack Paul; sons, Kevin of Hurricane; Michael (Wayne) of Atlanta, Ga.; Matthew (Gwyn) of South Side and Eric at home; and grandchildren, Joshua Bias, Brae Paul, Madison Paul and Gracie Paul.
A celebration of Cecil's life will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 7 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Pastor Ralph Kernen officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Hurricane. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
