LOCHGELLY, W.Va. -- It could take months to know the cause of death for a person found dead in Oak Hill last week.
A body found last Wednesday in Oak Hill is believed to be William Claude Brubaker, who went missing a week earlier from his Gatewood Road home, said Capt. Jim Sizemore of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Sizemore said that clothing and personal items found at the scene indicate that the body is Brubaker’s, but because of the advanced state of decomposition, it could take weeks to know for sure and months to determine the cause of death.
The body was found July 2 along W.Va. 16 at Lochgelly. It was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Charleston that day, Sizemore said.
