Ruby Frances Graham March, 91, of Chesapeake, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, of natural causes. She was a month shy of her 92nd birthday.
Ruby was a homemaker and a retired employee of Tom's Supermarket, where she worked as a cashier. In her free time she enjoyed watching hummingbirds and her flowers. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved going out to eat with her family and being with her family during the holidays. She also enjoyed the West Virginia State Fair.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John March; brothers, Thomas and William Graham; and sister, Sally Graham.
Surviving are her daughters, Diana March Smith (Dr. Ed Smith), Mary Frances Chapman and Jo Ann March Laxton; son, John Arthur March (Anna); grandchildren, Charles Edward Smith IV "Chaed", Salem Conway Smith (Kim), Julia Denise Lovejoy "Deni" (Stan), Philip Roger Chapman II and Bridgette Ann March-Crites (Dustin); and great-grandchildren, Seneca Brooke Lovejoy, Kaylee Ryan Smith, Emma Grace Lovejoy and Aidan Calvert Smith. Also, one step-granddaughter, Denise Massey, and step-great-grandson, Jonathan. She is also survived by her sister, Allene Gainer of Beaver, and a host of friends and other family members.
Service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Damron Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton, at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
