Lois Jacquelin Epes, 82, of Charleston, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Valley Center, South Charleston. She retired in 1972 as a secretary for Union Carbide Corp. with 20 years of service and enjoyed singing in the Carbide Chorus. Lois was a 1950 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She attended Morris Harvey College, where she received her secretarial degree and had been a member of the Alpha Mu sorority.
Surviving are her brother, Travis E. "Ted" Epes of Charleston; sister, Ethel P. Epes Pruett of St. Albans; two nieces; and two nephews.
Service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. Barrett Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Friends may call from noon until service time at the funeral home.
