Charleston Area Tennis Association will sponsor a youth carnival from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts in Kanawha City. The event will happen during the annual Public Courts Tournament. “Tennis is Ageless” is the theme of the carnival. Participants range in age from 11 to 80 years of age. Admission is free. Face painting, popcorn, balloon art, treats from an ice truck and more will be featured.
Alpha Theta Chapter of ADK

Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday at Meadowwood Park, Tornado. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at Coal River Science and Education building. The hike is about 3 miles on several short trails, with the flexibility of dropping out at any time.
The Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission’s Finance/Golf Committee meeting has been canceled.

West Virginia Ivy and Stone presents Aurora Celtic as the free Summer Serenade concert at 6 p.m. July 19 on the Brown House lawn in Summersville. Aurora Celtic plays original and traditional music from Scotland, Ireland and Appalachia. A light supper of pizza will be available for purchase beginning at 5 p.m. In case of bad weather, the concert will be moved to Old Main.
