Police were searching for a man who allegedly robbed an Elkview bank on Monday afternoon.
The man reportedly brandished a pistol when he robbed Poca Valley Bank on Elk River Road North around 12:45 p.m. He then fled the scene on foot, Kanawha Sheriff’s Cpl. B.D. Humphreys said.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 7 inches tall and 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 145 to 160 pounds, wearing a dark sweatshirt (possibly blue_), camouflage gloves and an olive-drab face mask.
The suspect’s description changed from initial reports after police interviewed more witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage, according to Humphreys.
At least three customers were in the bank during the robbery, as well as several employees. No one was injured in the robbery, which took fewer than five minutes.
Police wold not disclose the amount of money taken, the direction the suspect fled, or the age range of the suspect, according to Humphreys.
