Cole Moore of Spencer fired a 1-under-par 72 to claim the low round of the day and the boys 15-16 age division in the Callaway Junior Tour event Monday at the Parkersburg Country Club in Vienna.
Seth Vannoy of St. Clairsville, Ohio, took home the title in the 17-18 age division with an even-par 73. Other winners were Josef Dransfeld of Huntington (boys 13-14), Sammy White of Hurricane (boys 12-and-under), Whitney Milhoan of Vienna (girls low round, 15-18 division) and Olivia Hart of Hurricane (girls 10-14).
The Callaway Junior tour continues play today at the Marietta (Ohio) Country Club.

SENIOR GOLF: Harold Payne fired a 1-under-par 71, to win the senior division of the West Virginia Senior Series event at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane. In the silver division, Jim Mason captured the victory with a 2-under-par 70. Claiming a gold division victory and the low round of the day was Charlie Stone after a 3-under, 69.

9-10 SOFTBALL: St. Albans remains unbeaten, unscored upon and untouched through three games at the state tournament in Hedgesville.
SA has beaten Moorefield 17-0, Ronceverte 18-0 and Beckley 27-0. Six different pitchers have combined to keep all three foes hitless.
Coach Greg Garber’s team plays in the semifinals at 7 tonight against an opponent to be determined.

YOUTH SOCCER: The West Virginia Soccer Association announced Monday that eight players have earned spots in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Olympic Development Program player pool.
Those athletes are: Amanda Saymon of Bridgeport (1997 girls, Mountaineer United Soccer Club); Emilee Charles of Huntington (2001 girls, West Virginia Soccer Club); Abigail Long of Barboursville (2001 girls, West Virginia Soccer Club); Sydney Bauer of Charles Town (2002 girls, EPIC Soccer Club); Michael Shaffer of Charleston (1997 boys, West Virginia Soccer Club); Lucas Gocke of Elkview (1998 boys, West Virginia Soccer Club); Isaac Swiger of Fairmont (1999 boys, Fury Soccer Club); and Joseph Borneo of Morgantown (2000 boys, Fury Soccer Club).
BASEBALL CAMP: The West Virginia University baseball team will host a youth baseball camp for ages 5-12 Saturday and Sunday at the Hurricane City Park baseball complex.
