‘Safety on the Blue’ event slated for Aug. 3 at Bluestone Lake
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the “Safety on the Blue” Committee will host the 10th Annual “Safety on the Blue” celebration to promote water safety at Bluestone Lake from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the Bluestone Bridge parking lot (pit area) near the launch ramp.
The free event combines family fun with safety tips and will include free boat rides, games, live music, water safety equipment giveaways and hands-on water safety demonstrations. Also, for the kids, popular characters such as Corey the Boat and Bobber the Water Safety Dog will be on hand.
“Safety on the Blue” is presented by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the “Safety on the Blue” Committee, in coordination with the West Virginia Water Festival, Bluestone State Park, National Park Service, and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
