Jamie Lynn Spears has transitioned from acting to singing. The country artist performs Saturday at the Jackson County Fair.

The Jackson County Fair in Cottageville ends Saturday, but it’s got some big entertainment planned before then with five concerts remaining before the gates close. First, the venerable Dr. Ralph Stanley and his Clinch Mountain Boys are up at 8 p.m. tonight. They’re followed by country stars Diamond Rio at 8 p.m. Thursday and Southern gospel favorite Guy Penrod at 8 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, young country singers Austin Webb and Jamie Lynn Spears (Britney’s little sis) perform at 7 and 9 p.m., respectively. Admission, which includes everything but carnival rides, is $8 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 2-11 and free for those under 2. Visit
