West Alban Church of God is having a clothing giveaway free of charge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the church, located on Austin Drive, just below St. Albans, west off U.S. 60. All sizes and good-as-new clothing for men, women and children will be available.
The South Charleston Community Center will host a Senior Dance (age 50 and older) from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Center, located at 601 Jefferson Road, South Charleston. Meet the author changes
Some of the Meet the Author: Millie Snyder event dates at Kanawha County Public Library have been changed because of scheduling conflicts. Snyder, the former longtime area director of Weight Watchers, will share healthy eating tips from the re-released version of her “Lean and Luscious” cookbook. Attendees will be able to sample fare from the cookbook. A book signing will follow the presentation. The program is for adults. The new schedule is: Main Library, 6 p.m., Monday and 12:10 p.m. July 30; Clendenin Branch Library, 6 p.m., July 31; St. Albans Branch Library, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5; Cross Lanes Branch Library, 2 p.m., Aug. 8; and Elk Valley Branch Library, 6 p.m., Aug. 18.
