Bluefield installs dog waste bins
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) — Dog owners now have a place to put their pets’ waste while walking in some locations in Bluefield.
The city has placed five sanitary dog waste stations around the city with plans to add more in the future.
Assistant city manager Josh Cline says the stations are a way to keep pet waste from entering the storm water system.
Media outlets report the waste stations, which are small trash bins fashioned to metal poles, are located in downtown Bluefield, the old Fairview school field, Jaycee Field in south Bluefield and along Bluefield Avenue.
