Kanawha man allegedly steals $1,000 in copper, other equipment

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department and federal marshals arrested a Kanawha County man on Monday for allegedly stealing $1,000 worth of equipment in Elkview last month, police said.

Ervin “Tubby” Page, of the Sissonville area, allegedly stole copper wire, fence posts and steel shelving from O.V. Smith & Sons property at 5061 Elk River Road South, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Cpl. Brian Humphreys said.

The theft happened late at night on July 3.

Page is charged with grand larceny and breaking and entering.
