W.Va. team in California to help with wildfire

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A firefighting crew from West Virginia is in Northern California to help suppress a wildfire in the Klamath National Forest.

West Virginia Division of Forestry spokeswoman Leslie Smithson tells the Charleston Daily Mail that a 20-person crew has been assigned to the Klamath National Forest Beaver Fire.

The team includes 16 Division of Forestry staff members and four volunteer firefighters. They arrived in Northern California on Tuesday evening and began a 14-day tour of duty on Wednesday.
