A car accident Saturday afternoon on Interstate 79 near Mink Shoals sent three people to the hospital, an emergency dispatcher said.
Around 1:30 Saturday, a car ran into a tractor trailer from behind, a Metro 911 dispatcher said.
The dispatcher said that there was “major entrapment” when emergency responders arrived on the scene.
All three people who were injured were in the car and all have been taken to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital, the dispatcher said.
One injury was reported as serious.
The accident shut down both northbound lanes of I-79.
