WVU football recruit might end up in Marshall
Jacob McCrary could make it to West Virginia after all. He just might not make it as far north as Morgantown.
The freshman wide receiver from Miami, who was a part of West Virginia’s recruiting class but didn’t report to camp because he wasn’t cleared academically, said Tuesday that he will not be enrolling at WVU. Reports indicate McCrary will instead go to Marshall, but there has been no confirmation of that.
“I will not be attending West Virginia University,’’ McCrary said on Twitter Tuesday, following it in a separate tweet with, “It’s hurting me to even say it but I have to do what’s best for me and my family at this point.’’
McCrary is a 6-foot, 182-pound receiver who would be committed to his fourth school if he winds up at Marshall. He committed to Florida State in 2012, to Clemson in 2013 and then signed with WVU in February of this year.
