WVU arts and sciences dean leaves for Clemson

The dean of West Virginia University’s largest college — the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences — will be joining former WVU president Jim Clements at Clemson University.

Robert Jones, dean of the Eberly College since 2010, has announced he will serve as Clemson’s first-ever provost and executive vice president of the school’s academic affairs beginning in September.

Jones, a graduate of Clemson, will lead the university’s student programs and research and public service activities, among other responsibilities.

His replacement has not yet been named.
