Gas prices fall 5 cents in state

By The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gasoline prices fell about 5 cents in West Virginia this week.

AAA East Central says the average price for a gallon of regular was $3.51. That’s about 8 cents less per gallon compared with the same week a year ago.

Prices range from about $3.36 in Huntington to $3.61 in Morgantown.

Nationally, gas prices average $3.47 this week, down about 2 cents from the previous week.

Officials say prices continued their downward trend despite high-profile conflicts in overseas oil producing countries and declining domestic refinery production.
