Eleanor Marie Pride, 90, of Westover, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born in Walton on Dec. 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Raymond Edward Varner and the late Lula Pearl (Gandee) Varner.
She was a member of Westover United Methodist Church and was a 60-year member and past president of Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 51.
She is survived by children, P. David Pride and his wife, Hedy, of Westlake, Ohio, Edward C. Pride and his wife, Frances, of Fairmont and Judy Devor and her husband, Michael, of Morgantown; grandchildren, Joshua Lee Devor of Morgantown, Edward Lee Pride and Erin Frances Pride of Fairmont; and a cousin, Barbara McCracken of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Plummer David Pride, who passed away in 2000; her daughter, Janice S. Pride, who passed away in 2013; brother, Raymond Edward Varner Jr.; and sister, Nina Varner.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rose "Jo" McCartney officiating. Graveside service will take place at 4 p.m. Friday at Rocky Branch Cemetery, near Walton.
