Man charged with stealing W.Va. lottery tickets

By The Associated Press

FAIRLEA, W.Va. – A Greenbrier County man has been charged with stealing $35,000 worth of lottery tickets at the State Fair of West Virginia.

State Police said the scratch-off tickets were stolen from the West Virginia Lottery’s booth at the fair on Wednesday night.

State Police arrested Cody Arbuckle, 20, of Maxwelton the next day. He is charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Arbuckle is accused of taking the tickets and then stuffing them into a trash can. State Police say he dropped the trash can and fled when he was approached by two food service workers who saw him leaving the fairgrounds.

He is being held at the Southern Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.
