Chief Logan concerts to celebrate old-time music

LOGAN , W.Va. – Old-time music will be celebrated at Chief Logan State Park during the Labor Day weekend.

The 10th annual Aunt Jennie Music Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Pickin’ in the Park theater.

Logan native Roger Byrant will perform during free concerts on both days. Bryant is the grandson of West Virginia folk legend Virginia Myrtle “Aunt Jennie” Wilson.

The lineup for Saturday’s concert also includes Elaine Purkey, The Barefoot Hillbilly Music Review, the Allegheny Ramblers, the Dick Taylor Band, Sasha Colette and The Magnolias, and the Coal Fired Band.

Sunday’s concert also includes Glen Simpson, Cora and Fred Hairston, Robert Shafer and The Pour House Band, The Samples Brothers, The Full Moon Boys, and the Stewarts.

The concerts will be hosted by Museum in the Park.
