An autopsy found that the man whose body was found on the banks of the Kanawha River on Sunday died by drowning, police said Tuesday.

The body of Richard Hansen, 47, of Charleston, was found near the 2600 block of Kanawha Avenue, across the river from the Capitol Complex.

The circumstances of the death are not suspicious, Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster said in a release.
