SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- A Logan County woman was injured and her husband killed when their car rolled over on Interstate 77 near Sissonville early Tuesday morning.

Jonathan Copley, 44, of Man, was killed in the accident, Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

His wife, Susan Copley, 38, was driving south on Interstate 77 around 4:20 a.m. today when she apparently lost control of the Toyota FJ Cruiser near the Tuppers Creek exit.

Humphreys said the vehicle strayed into the median and flipped over about six times before coming to rest.

Jonathan Copley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and killed, according to the sheriff’s department. His wife, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to CAMC General Hospital. Her condition was not available.

Southbound lanes of Interstate 77 were closed for about four hours following the wreck.
