CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- One person was killed Wednesday morning in a wreck near Big Chimney.
Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said a woman was heading south on Interstate 79 about 9 a.m. today when she apparently lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and killed, Humphreys said.
The victim’s name had not been released as of late Wednesday afternoon.
It was the second accident in two days in Kanawha County in which a person who was not wearing a seatbelt was killed, Humphreys said. He said sheriff’s deputies encourage everyone to wear a seatbelt when traveling in a motor vehicle, as required by law.
