Who ya gonna call...to go see “Ghostbusters” with you this weekend? Last Friday, a remastered update of the ‘80s comedy classic was re-released in theaters to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and showings continue locally at Regal Nitro Stadium 12 until at least Sunday. (The schedule doesn’t yet go beyond that.) The heavily ad-libbed, PG-rated film revolves around three unemployed parapsychology professors (played by Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd) who start a ghost removal service. Directed by Ivan Reitman and written by Aykroyd and Ramis, it was originally titled “Ghost Smashers” and intended to be a futuristic epic — until the hefty estimated price tag shut that down. Perhaps it was for the best, though, as the version we know and love went on to earn Oscar nominations for visual effects and Ray Parker Jr.’s chart-topping theme song as well as become the highest-grossing comedy of all time (before being dethroned by “Home Alone”). Showings are at 12:30, 1:45, 3, 4:15, 5:30, 7 and 8 p.m. Call 304-769-0405 or visit www.regmovies.com.
