Naked woman attempts to rob convenience store

Drema Setliff

A Charleston woman has been charged with robbery after witnesses say she walked naked across the Motel 6 parking lot in Cross Lanes and attempted to rob a One Stop early Thursday morning.

Drema Setliff, 30, was only partially covered by a towel when she walked into the convenience store and demanded the clerk open the safe, Cpl. Brian Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sherrif’s Department said in a news release. Setliff grabbed the clerk’s hair and yelled for her to open the safe.

Shortly after, a “witness known to Ms. Setliff” opened the store’s door and helped the clerk leave the store, Humpreys said. Setliff then waited in a back room for police to arrive.

She surrendered to Deputy J.L. Miller when he arrived, saying, “Take me to jail.” He arrested her and investigated the scene.

Setliff is being held at the South Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bail.
