Cutting Edge Fest
WMUL-FM will host Cutting Edge Fest at 8 p.m. Saturday at the V Club in Huntington. The concert will mix local music and charity. Doors open at 8 p.m. The concert will benefit River Valley Child Development Services Tuition Investment Program Support or TIPS Scholarship. The event features Boulevard Avenue, Nights And Weekends, and Deadbeats and Barkers. Tickets are $5 and all the money raised will go to the TIPS Scholarship fund. WMUL-FM will also accept a donation of one or more of the following items in exchange for a ticket: paint and construction paper, paint brushes, stencils, balls, bubbles and sand toys (buckets, shovels, rakes and molds). Benefit warehouse sale
YWCA 2nd Seating, a used furniture store, will have a warehouse sale to benefit YWCA Shanklin Center for Senior Enrichment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17 and 18 at its location, 515 Elizabeth St. E., next to the railroad tracks behind Laidley Field. Sofas, hutches, dining sets, commercial furniture, entertainment centers, occasional tables and much more will be featured. 2nd Seating cannot make deliveries, but there is plenty of parking for trucks at the side of the warehouse. Purchases must be removed from the warehouse by 4 p.m. on the day of purchase. Shoppers can pay with cash, check or credit card.
Yard/hot dog sale
Riverside High School Project Graduation 2015 will sponsor a Drive A Ford yard sale and hot dog sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 at the school.
Day in the park
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park invites the public to “A Day in the Park” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 at the park’s visitors center, 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry. This event takes place on the National Park Service’s Junior Ranger Day and will give kids of all ages the opportunity to have fun while learning about how the National Park Service operates. There is no charge and the event will kick off National Park Week at Harpers Ferry. For information, call 304-535-6029.
The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will hold its April luncheon meeting at noon April 18 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. The cost is $12 per person. Guest speaker is Joyce Arthur, executive director of the Putnam Aging Program. Door prizes will be featured and the 2015 membership dues are requested. Reservation deadline is April 15.
