Library meeting canceled

The Kanawha County Public Library Board of Directors Finance Committee meeting scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday has been canceled. The Finance Committee will hold a joint meeting with the Personnel Committee on May 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Main Library in Charleston.

Neighborhood watch

A neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled for residents of Ward 2 in St. Albans at 7 p.m. on May 12 at the First Presbyterian Church, Kanawha Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue. Jason Philabaun is in charge of the meeting. Call 304-767-4874 for information.

Solar energy session

The West Virginia State University Economic Development Center will host a Charleston Solar Co-op information session at 5:30 p.m. on May 19 at the center at 1506 Kanawha Blvd. W. The co-op is a new initiative of Kanawha County residents seeking to leverage their collective buying power and better harness the potential of solar energy. The public is invited to attend the information session to learn about solar energy, the co-op process and the cost of installing a system. Safe water program

An orientation training for the movement for a safe water system will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 30 at the Islamic Center, 1 Valley Drive, South Charleston.
