West Virginia University will announce its 27th class to be inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame prior to the start of the WVU-Delaware State football game Saturday.
Induction ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. inside the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. This event is free of charge and open to the public.
The 2017 class includes Chrissie Abbott (women’s soccer), Eddie Becker (men’s basketball), Willie Drewrey (football), John Havlik (men’s swimming & diving), Charles Hickman (baseball), Dan Mozes (football), Kevin Pittsnogle (men’s basketball) and John Spiker (administration/athletic training).
This year’s inductees brings the total number of inductees to 177.

WVU FOOTBALL: The Big 12 Conference has announced that WVU’s Saturday, Sept. 23, Big 12 Conference football game vs. Kansas at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas, will be televised on ESPNU at noon.Single-game tickets remain for all remaining home games and can be purchased online at WVUGAME.com or by calling 1-800-WVU GAME.

WVU SOCCER: West Virginia University junior midfielder Patricia Fernandez underwent ACL reconstructive surgery on her left knee Friday.She will miss the remainder of the 2017 season.Fernandez, a native of Pearland, Texas injured her knee in the No. 3- ranked Mountaineers’ 2-1 victory over No. 1 Penn State.
