Capito can still make the right decision on health care
It was unfortunate that Sen. Shelley Moore Capito voted for the last Senate health care bill, which fortunately didn’t pass. (“When the party called, Sen. Capito fell in line,” Gazette editorial, July 28).
But it is not too late to encourage her tendency to work for the people of West Virginia and America. My dad, who was born and raised in West Virginia, always believed in giving folks a second chance. There is now bipartisan work afoot to bring affordable health care to all Americans. Calls, letters and visits to Sen. Capito can remind her that this work isn’t finished. It is a second chance to come down on the right side of health care, by working across the aisle to help protect all Americans.
