Charleston Seafood Week

Charleston’s annual Seafood Week kicks off Monday.

Restaurants around the city have teamed with the Seafood Nutrition Partnership to encourage people to eat seafood more frequently. Some restaurants will offer seafood specials available during the week.

Participating restaurants include Adelphia Sports Bar & Grille, Berry Hills Country Club, Blossom Dairy,Bluegrass Kitchen, Brick Salt Bar + Kitchen, Bricks & Barrels, Bridge Road Bistro, Celsius, Ichiban Pan-Asian Cuisine, Laury’s Restaurant, Mi Cocina de Amor, Quarrier Diner, Sam’s Uptown Cafe, South Hills Market and Cafe, Starlings Coffee & Provisions, The Block Restaurant and Wine Cellar, Tidewater Grill, Timothy’s at The Quarrier Diner, and Tricky Fish.

Fall farm-to-table dinner

Hudson Farms, located on Silo Street off of the Big Chimney exit, will host a farm to table dinner Oct. 22.

The farm’s final dinner of the season will feature a meal prepared by chefs Mike Costello and Amy Dawson from Lost Creek Farm.

The menu includes a salt-roasted turnip and sunchoke bisque, smoked and fried green tomatoes, porter glazed winter squash, and grilled fennel ragout, black IPA glazed flank steak, and a West Virginia buckwheat and mountain apple stack cake dessert.

The dinner begins at 5 p.m. at the farm. Guests will dine under a newly constructed three-sided covered deck with more than 700-square-feet of entertaining space, overlooking a winding path that leads to the garden, accompanied by plants and flowers along the way.

Kid’s kitchen at Uncork & Create

Uncork & Create in Charleston is hosting a kid’s kitchen pizza-making class Oct. 16.

Children ages 7 and up will make their own homemade pizza and sauce.

The class begins at 2 p.m. Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets are $45 per child.

Mister Bee chips available at Sheetz

Mister Bee potato chips are now available for sale in select Sheetz convenience store locations across the state.

The popular chips, which are produced in Parkersburg, can be found in Sheetz locations including Huntington, Barboursville, Milton, Hurricane, Teays Valley, Charleston, South Charleston, Poca, Scott Depot, Ripley, Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Weston, Buckhannon and Morgantown.
