Bakers wanted for the Gazette-Mail Holiday Cookie Competition

Bakers, start your ovens.

In the spirit of the holiday season, The Gazette-Mail features section is hosting a Holiday Cookie Contest for our readers.

We want your best holiday cookies — the more creative the better.

You love to bake, and our team of “expert” judges love to eat. It couldn’t be any more perfect.

The rules are simple.

Fill out our quick online form to register for the competition. If you can’t fill out the form online, contact features writer Carlee Lammers at 304-348-1230 to register. We ask that you register no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Then, bake us a dozen of your favorite holiday cookies, and bring them to the Gazette-Mail offices anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Cookies will not be accepted any later than 3 p.m.

The Gazette-Mail newsroom is located at 1001 Virginia St. East.

We’re not looking for a particular type of cookie — just make a batch of your favorite holiday cookies.

Be sure your name is on your cookie container or platter, so we know who to credit for the deliciousness.

Our team of expert judges for the competition includes The Food Guy Steven Keith; Gazette-Mail food columnist Judy Grigoraci; and Sarah Plumley, owner of Sarah’s Bakery in South Hills.

The winning recipes will be featured in the Dec. 21 edition of the Gazette-Mail, and bakers will get the bragging rights that come along with the title of “Gazette-Mail Holiday Cookie Contest Champion.”

So, fire up your ovens and mixers and get baking!
