Girls Night Out
Girls Night Out will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the West Virginia Cultural Center. The event is the season’s biggest party with a purpose: women helping women through power, passion and raising funds and awareness to eliminate domestic violence through the YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program. Local restaurants prepare their tastiest bites and male volunteers wait on guests with signature drinks, beer or wine from the open bar. Photo opportunities abound. This year’s theme: Be Boho Chic, Live Violence Free. Inside the event, guests can shop silent auction of over 100 items and dance the night away to live DJ entertainment. Tickets are $150. Housing authority meeting
The Housing Authority of the City of South Charleston Board of Commissioners will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the administrative offices located at 520 Goshorn St., in South Charleston.
Business fundamentals workshop
A workshop on Business Fundamentals is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Aug. 31 at the Charleston Area Alliance Building, 1116 Smith St., Room 310. Business Coach Terry Cyfers will lead the session. The workshop is part of the West Virginia Small Business Development Center training and business coaching program Three Step Jump Start. The course covers what entrepreneurs need to know to start a business in West Virginia. The program helps small business owners receive the right information at the right time. The fee is $35 per person. Attendees paying online should bring a copy of the online receipt to the training session.
