Vintage West Virginia: Gold Dome restaurant

The Gold Dome restaurant sat at the northern end of the 35th Street Bridge in Charleston until October 1970, when interstate construction forced it to move to Kanawha City. The restaurant dates back to the 1930s, but it began its run as Tony’s Gold Dome when Fayette County’s Tony Lopez assumed ownership in 1964.

Each Sunday and Monday, Vintage West Virginia provides a glimpse of the past in the Mountain State.
