PHOTOS: Homework room sees big reveal at West Side center

A new homework room was unveiled Monday at the Second Avenue Neighborhood Center on Charleston’s West Side. In the past, students who go to the center’s after-school program did their homework, played and had dinner all in one room on the first floor. Now, with the help of four to five volunteers from River Ridge Church of Charleston, the children will have a separate room for homework. The church funded the room’s renovations and provided more than 250 volunteer hours to complete the work.
