W.Va. nurse convicted of murder faces lawsuit
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A Morgantown nurse convicted of killing her husband is now facing a lawsuit over his estate.
The lawsuit was filed by Ruth Michael, who is administering the estate of her son James Michael. She's suing Michelle Michael, who is serving life in prison for murder.
Lawyer Michael Solomon says Michelle Michael is holding up distribution of the remainder of James Michael's estate. Solomon says the aim is to get permission to distribute the remainder of the estate's assets.
Michelle Michael was convicted of murder and arson in 2007. She must serve 15 years of the murder sentence and five years of the arson sentence before being eligible for parole. Currently, she's at the Lakin Correctional Center near Point Pleasant.
