Authorities say husband found 3 fire victims
ALUM BRIDGE, W.Va. -- Authorities aren't saying much about the woman and two children found dead in a burnt Lewis County barn, except that the woman's husband found them.
The bodies have been sent to the state medical examiner in Charleston, but a spokeswoman said Tuesday they have not been positively identified.
Neither sheriff's deputies nor fire investigators will say whether they believe the victims died before or during the blaze behind a home in Alum Bridge. Nor have they released causes of death.
Deputy State Fire Marshal Reed Cook says the woman was 32. Her son was 5 and her daughter was 3.
Their names have not been released.
Reed tells media outlets the fire occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning, when the woman's husband phoned authorities. The barn was destroyed.
