Fayette man pleads guilty to throwing cats into fire
FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man faces up to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to throwing several cats into a fire.
The Fayette County Prosecutor's Office tells media outlets that Michael W. Ford pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fayette County Circuit Court to three counts of cruelty to animals. He's scheduled to be sentenced April 10.
Ford admitted to putting at least three cats inside a wooden box and throwing them into a fire on Oct. 21, 2013.
Police say the remains of seven cats were recovered.
