Ali Schmitz graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication in May 2016. Before joining the Gazette-Mail in November 2016, she was an investigative reporting fellow for News21 and worked as a reporter and producer for WUFT News in Gainesville, FL. She has contributed to multiple national news outlets including NPR, NBC News, and the Center for Public Integrity.
