Harrison County Board of Education members approved the resignation of Bridgeport football coach Josh Nicewarner at a special meeting Tuesday morning, according to a report in the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram.
Nicewarner, 34, is charged with felony soliciting a minor via computer and felony use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor.
Harrison County Sherriff’s Lt. Detective Rob Waybright alleges Nicewarner sent an inappropriate video to a juvenile and requested the female send inappropriate photos of herself. Police recovered the images from the juvenile’s phone.
Nicewarner is currently free on bail and is schedueld for a probable cause hearing on Aug. 8 in Harrison County. According to the Exponent-Telegram report, no defense attorney had filed a notice on appearance in the case as of Monday afternoon.
Nicewarner, who was also a teacher at Harrison County’s Liberty High School, faces the possibility of 2-10 years on the soliciting a minor via computer charge and up to five years in prison on the use of obscene matter charge in addition to having to register as a sex offender.
