Late prep football: Winfield chops down Chapmanville

Andrew Huff ran for 142 yards and three touchdowns Friday night and Winfield dominated the second half to pick up a 50-19 prep football victory at Chapmanville.

Also for the Generals (2-1), Nick Vance rushed for 124 yards and two TDs and threw an 8-yard scoring pass to Ben Clark.

In addition, Clark had a rushing touchdown in the second half as Winfield broke away from a 29-19 halftime lead.

For the Tigers (1-2), Timmy Bigley ran for 108 yards and one TD and Dylan Smith caught five passes for 32 yards and added two short scoring runs.

Van 30, Tug Valley 22

Brady Grant ran 2 yards for the tie-breaking touchdown early in the fourth quarter as the host Bulldogs rallied to victory. Grant carried 23 times for 182 yards and three TDs and threw a scoring pass.

Caleb Green also threw three 2-point conversion passes to Daniel Gibson as the Bulldogs (2-1) came back from an early 14-0 deficit.

For the Panthers (2-1), Noah Lucas rushed for 102 yards and two TDs and Jonathan Blankenship ran for 59 yards and caught four passes for 95 yards.

Morgantown 31, Parkersburg South 10

Ty Konchesky had three TD runs, including fourth-quarter bursts of 52 and 33 yards, to propel the Mohigans (1-2). Konchesky finished with 247 yards on 22 carries.

For the Patriots (0-3), Tyee Gibson caught four passes and returned a kickoff 98 yards for a TD.

Racine Southern (Ohio) 27, Wahama 21

Riley Roush ran for four TDs, including a 2-yarder for the winning points in overtime for the host Tornadoes (3-0). Roush carried 23 times for 106 yards.

For the White Falcons (0-3), Christian Thomas ran 26 times for 136 yards and all three of his team’s TDs, including one to tie the game at 21 with 8:17 left in regulation.
