Aaron Perry and Nathaniel Dunham each had three hits, two doubles and three RBIs as host Hurricane steamrolled to a 15-0 prep baseball win in five innings over Point Pleasant Saturday.
Noah Short registered a pair of hits and three RBIs for the Redskins (2-0).
St. Albans sweeps Liberty Harrison: The Red Dragons (2-0) swept a doubleheader against the visiting Mountaineers (0-2) by scores of 7-1 and 14-2.
In the opener, Jake Carr struck out 15 in five innings to get the win. He also went 2 for 4 with a double, and Nick Faezell went 2 for 4 with a home run.
In the second game, SA’s Nick Loftis went 3 for 3 with two home runs, a double and four RBIs and Nick Faezell went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs.
Ripley 5, Greenbrier East 4: Ben Mack drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Vikings (1-0) over the Spartans (0-1) in Ripley. Lane Casto went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs for the Vikings. Brian Colley went 3 for 4 with a double for the Spartans.
Scott 10, Nitro 6: Easton Cook went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs to pace the SkyHawks (1-0) to a road win over the Wildcats (0-1). Nathan Kuhn added two hits and scored four runs for the SkyHawks. For the Wildcats, Peyton Brown went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Jacob Iler and Logan Gaddy drove in two runs each.
St. Albans 11, Capital 1: Kinsey Hudson tripled twice and drove in four runs as the host Red Dragons picked up a three-inning mercy-rule win. Leah Scott added a pair of hits and two RBIs for St. Albans.
St. Albans 10, Nitro 2: Brooke Kidd swatted two home runs and collected four RBIs as the homestanding Red Dragons rolled to a six-inning win. Britney Sharp had two hits with a double and an RBI, Kinsey Hudson went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Braley Brown had three hits with an RBI for St. Albans (2-1).
Hurricane 8, Woodrow Wilson 0: Jayme Bailey had two triples and two RBIs to pace the Redskins (3-0) over the Flying Eagles in a five-inning game at home. Pitcher Katie Adams gave up five hits and struck out eight in the game.
George Washington 12, Rockbridge (Va.) 1: Led by Jake Stern’s four goals, the Patriots defeated visiting Rockbridge of Lexington, Virginia in Charleston. John Fenwick posted three goals and three assists and Jerrett Gaeger had a goal and three assists.
