Marshall finished filling its 2017-18 basketball schedule, which includes trips to Xavier and Illinois, but also features 17 regular-season games at Cam Henderson Center out of 31.
“I’m really happy with how this schedule came together,” said Thundering Herd coach Dan D’Antoni. “Overall, I think it’s a very competitive schedule for both non-conference and conference play.”
The nonconference schedule was released Wednesday. The conference schedule previously had been released, with Thundering Herd beginning its 18-game Conference USA stretch Dec. 28 and 30 at home against Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech.
As for the nonconference slate, that begins with two exhibition games at home, Oct. 29 against WVU Tech and Nov. 5 against West Virginia Wesleyan.
The regular season kicks off at home on Nov. 10 against Tennessee-Martin.
The Herd also has home games against Southern, North Carolina Central, Concord, Akron, Chattanooga, Ohio and Eastern Kentucky. Its big-name games on the road come Nov. 19 at Illinois and Dec. 19 at Xavier.
Marshall also visits Morehead State, William & Mary and Toledo.
